Inaugural 2024-25 Med vs Law Charity Classic

The first-ever Med vs Law Charity Classic was an unforgettable night of spirited competition, camaraderie, and community support. On a thrilling evening filled with fast-paced back-and-forth hockey and fierce rivalry, the Law team emerged victorious with a final score of 7-3.

The game was highlighted by an intense finish, capped off with an empty-net goal in the final minute that sealed the win for Law.

With over 350 fans cheering from the stands, the energy was electric as students, faculty, and supporters came together not just for the game, but for a cause greater than the scoreboard. The game was packed with fast-paced action and memorable moments on both sides.

More than just a competition, this event united the community through sport and charity, raising an impressive $6,645 in support of The Royal Ottawa. The success of this inaugural event sets the foundation for what promises to become an exciting annual tradition and future classics filled with passion, purpose, and plenty of hockey action.

2025-2026

The second annual Med vs Law Charity Classic marked a major step forward for the event, doubling in size and community support from its inaugural year. Moving to TD Place Arena, the game brought together medical students, law students, faculty, friends, families, and fans for an unforgettable night of hockey in support of CHEO.

With more than 600 fans in attendance, the atmosphere was electric from puck drop to final buzzer. The event raised nearly $15,000 for CHEO, helping support vital pediatric care, research, and programs for children and families in our community.

On the ice, Law repeated as champions with another 7–3 victory, securing back-to-back titles and adding another chapter to the growing Med vs Law rivalry.

The 2025 Charity Classic cemented the event as more than a student hockey game. It became a larger community tradition built around competition, school spirit, and meaningful impact. As the event continues to grow, the Med vs Law Charity Classic is setting a new standard for what student-led fundraising can achieve in Ottawa.
